How to Host a Pancake Breakfast 1) Get a date from the Troop 246 Committee Be Clear - is this a Troop Fundraiser OR Community Service? 2) Confirm with the ScoutMaster and/or Troop Sponsor (Mr. Lumpkins/Mr. Bloss in 2011) that they will purchase the supplies for the breakfast 2-3 weeks before the breakfast date: 3) Create Pancake Breakfast Flyer Use Template If this is for a Community Service - Be clear to whom the proceeds will go Email it to the Troop Hang it in a few places around town 4) Start Sign-up Sheets Use Templates Make sure you get all the slots filled As leader you should work from setup through cleanup Recruit Adults as needed to make sure slots are filled Make sure some adults on each shift have worked pancake breakfast before 5) Send out advertising Use Template - cut and paste into email - don't attach to avoid format probs If you put yourself on the To: line and all the other people on the Bcc: line, they won't see each other and you will get a copy to see that it has gone out properly If you get a bounced email - please send the update to the troop committee chair so the template gets updated. Go to: http://events.timesunion.com/(with a parent's permission) to submit items to the TU Community Calendar. 6) Send out reminder emails to the Troop the week of the breakfast 7) Bring a list of workers and phone numbers to the breakfast so you can call anyone who doesn't come 8) Work hard and eat some pancakes!
